Mariupol, a Ukrainian city tragically known for its destruction and occupation, once had a thriving sea rowing club where children and adults trained on boats called yals. With their sports center and boats in Mariupol destroyed, the club has found a new home in Dnipro, where InText’s main office is located.
InText gathered donations through a charitable lottery to help the Mariupol rowing club rebuild. We assisted in equipping their new sports center and provided members with everyday necessities. In 2022, the center also served as a temporary shelter for Mariupol refugees.
Today, the new rowing club is open, offering river training for temporarily displaced persons and long-time Dnipro residents as well as providing inclusive sessions for people with disabilities and rehabilitation trainings for Ukrainian defenders.
This month, the InText team experienced the unique thrill of boat training firsthand. Fresh air + sport + amazing company = perfect weekends!
