Should global content solution providers understand the tools behind outsourced tasks? Sometimes, yes.
From time to time our clients ask us for consultation sessions to better understand what their projects look like behind the scenes. One format we use is a practical workshop tailored to their workflow. We recently received such a request from a client who was handling a growing volume of Articulate Storyline projects.
The goal: Give the client a better understanding of the tool, the production workflow behind the courses, and how different requirements affect project scope and estimates.
Two one-hour sessions covered:
The whole agenda was highly tailored. It included the most relevant questions to the client’s team based on their initial request, previous project discussions, and recurring points from day-to-day communication. Our team used examples from the client’s own projects to show how different requirements are handled, scoped, and estimated in practice.
The result: The client described the workshop as valuable and insightful and said it helped make our collaboration more efficient. The client’s managers also gained context that helped them with briefing vendors clearly and reducing unnecessary back-and-forth emails.
This case shows that collaboration with a localization partner doesn’t have to stop at delivery. Having access to the expertise behind the workflow can help your team make the process faster and easier, better understand their projects, and make more cost-effective decisions.
